Hey, I’m Alex!
I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in the South West, photographing weddings across Devon, Cornwall, and wherever the road leads.
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a curiosity turned into an A-level in photography, then grew properly through travel, time outdoors, and a lot of wandering with a camera in hand. Somewhere between beaches, road trips, and chasing good light, it became very clear this was what I wanted to do!
SO WHAT MAKES ME, ME? WELL, LET ME FILL YOU IN...
I’m drawn to real moments and good stories - the kind you don’t need to stage. Weddings are perfect for that. They’re full of fleeting looks, nervous laughs, chaos, calm, and everything in between. I photograph them as they unfold, quietly and honestly, so you can actually enjoy your day without feeling like you’re on a photoshoot.
When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll usually find me by the sea, planning the next trip, out running, at the gym, cooking something ambitious, or (more realistically) eating out and calling it research!
I love being outdoors, moving, exploring new places, and soaking up inspiration wherever I can - those things shape how I see and photograph the world.
MY LOVES AND HATES
LOVES - F.R.I.E.N.D.S on repeat, an afternoon nap, a beach sunrise (with a coffee in hand of course), city breaks, a summer sea swim, rap and country music (if either are on your reception playlist, try and stop me from the dancefloor!) a new running PB on Strava. AND capturing love stories of course!
HATES - celery (literally the only thing I don't eat!), forced fun, fake laughs, bad vibes, missed moments and over-directing!
If you’re after relaxed, documentary-style wedding photography with a sharp eye and a dry sense of humour, we’ll probably get on very well!
GETTING MARRIED IN DEVON, CORNWALL OR THE SOUTH WEST?
My Approach
I photograph weddings the way they actually happen—unposed, unscripted, and occasionally a little chaotic. My goal? To notice the moments you didn’t see coming: the nervous laughs, the side-eye during the vows, and yes, grandma stealing those extra slices of cake!
I stay out of the way so you can actually enjoy your day, while still capturing everything that makes it feel like your wedding. The big moments, the small ones, the ones you didn’t even know were happening—they’re all fair game.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a set of images that look effortless, but capture all the emotion, energy, and love - plus a few laughs at things you’d forgotten even happened. Think of it as a documentary of your day...but with better timing and no commercial breaks!
